A cattail has survived the winter, soon the be replaced with a new plant. The fluff has been used for birds and small animals to line their nests.

Today is a beautiful day in the Boston area! I had the afternoon off so I went for a walk around Great Meadows NWR in Concord, MA. So far this is my favorite picture - a cattail from last season, its fluff still available to line nests and dens.
