He and a partner walked a student to their destination through the nighttime city streets, returned to campus, then walked to another part of town with the next solo person. Single person. Lonely person who just needed a bit of support. Okay, maybe he was projecting a little. But if Ed showed up at the walksafe office one night, what might Stede do?
