Urban Beast - Cloud Dancer (a Quetzalcoatlus) The oldest living being in the forests of Silverson that isn’t Typhon, Cloud Dancer is a Grand High Wyvern, a benign species of wyvern that grows to immense size and can speak. Noble and kind-hearted, he will go out of his way to lead lost stragglers to safety before others of his kind try to get them. Should they stay long enough, he’ll give great words of wisdom to help them in the future.

Now that we've got the main characters taken care of, let's move on to some of Gaia's more notable wildlife specimens, starting with the most intelligent of the featured species.

Urban Beast - Stripe (A Leopard Shark) A shark living in the depths of Hell’s Aquarium (at least, that’s the name that surface dwellers gave an otherwise okay portion of the sea), Stripe has always wondered what the surface world is like despite the other ocean residents’ misgivings. And with the help of Jackson and pals, she finally has the chance as the newer member of the Underdog Crew…even if she needs a trash can on wheels to get around. Naive and cheerful to a fault, Stripe tends to rub on the others the right way. She’s particularly adorable to Jackson…and Sakura. However, this doesn’t mean she’s blind to the errors of her peers.

Now here's the newer member of the Underdog Crew (later in the series, that is).

Urban Beast - Anderson Tiggs (A Prairie Dog) The self-centered judge and jury and executioner of Silverson, Mayor Anderson uses his intimidating status and wealth to enforce some rather self-serving policies of his. Unfortunately, his voice is so high-pitched that it’s nearly impossible to take him seriously. He is also verbally abusive towards the people who work for him, particularly towards Amina. Anderson is perfectly willing to put anyone in their place by any means, especially if it benefits him only. But above all else is his hatred for the homeless and the working class. So he naturally dedicates a lot of his effort to crushing the Outskirts and especially Scourge.

And now we finally have our main antagonist, a bit of a mayor major pain.

Urban Beast - Amina Jaradat (A Bombay Cat) Amina is a girl saddled with the worst jobs ever. She’s Lucy’s best friend/beleaguered assistant, and Anderson’s abused secretary. But she puts on a brave face to support her family. The stress has left her exasperated and tired, but also sharp and quick to try and find simple solutions (emphasis on try). But most of the time, she would like nothing more than to hone her art skills and pursue a career in politics in the hopes of making the world at least slightly less awful. While she isn’t too fond of Jackson’s group, she can’t help but like Leon for how innocent and sincere he is.

Here's a favorite of mine! One who holds the whims of fools together, and is barely keeping herself together.

Urban Beast - Lucy Adams (A Maned Wolf) The history with Jackson and Lucy is a complicated and rather sad one. They were once the best of friends during their high school glory days. That is, until it became obvious that she was the one bringing in the crowds and not him. Soon, friendship became bitter rivalry, of which Lucy is winning. She has a massive talent for throwing parties and is often the first person to get all of the attention, deserving or not. Most of the time, Amina does the heavy lifting for her. While she would never admit it, this callous canine’s got the same desire to recapture that youthful energy from high school that Jackson wants. The difference is that her dad puts enough money in her bank account to achieve that on a superficial level.

Now we have Jackson's best friend-turned-enemy.

Urban Beast - Sakura Serizawa (A Dragonfly) Although she got her start in the Eastlands, Sakura has gotten quite used to the Westland customs. While she’s a shining example of stoicism and confidence, she seems a bit too apathetic to otherwise horrifying situations when she isn’t trying and failing to rein in Jackson. This is in fact due to being a young member of the Eight Heads of Yin, the most powerful organization of assassins in the Eastlands. And she’s acquired quite a body count without her friends noticing. Despite this, she is very loyal to those she calls her friends, and will not hesitate to use her impressive skills in both combat and stealth to get them out of a bind.

Rounding out the main group of Underdogs is the only one with her head truly on straight...or is she?

Urban Beast - Leon Williams (A Gila Monster) And now we come to our protag's lovable bumbling best friend and sidekick...but is that truly all there is to him? Jackson’s best friend (and fall guy) since childhood, Leon is one heck of a clumsy loser ridiculed by all. But that won’t put a damper on his otherwise sunny disposition. One of the friendliest in the Underdog Crew, Leon just wants everyone to get along and have a good time. He seems as dumb as a pile of rocks and rarely raises a fuss whenever Jackson concocts a scheme, but the truth is that he’s aware of his reputation as a dumb muscle, and secretly despises the role he’s been all but assigned to by his best friend. In fact, it borders on depression when no one's around. It’s a part of the reason he gravitates so much towards the very smart and similarly mistreated Amina. But perhaps Leon’s greatest attribute is his strong sense of justice and willingness to rise to the occasion when no one else will. He just needs to realize it sooner than later.
