Wittman's propaganda machine is in full-on blitz mode. He stresses the need for energy security but only talks about oil and gas. Wind and solar are huge energy components in #VA1 and across Virginia. But he sticks to the company line.

As your representative, I strive to balance fiscal responsibility with the need to support programs that benefit our communities. I believe any media outlet receiving public funding should be carefully reviewed and maintain a fair and balanced approach. I recognize the significant impact that NPR and PBS have on education and public discourse, particularly in rural areas where access to diverse media may be limited. As a proponent of diverse viewpoints and balanced discourse, I feel it is crucial that all media outlets, especially those funded by the public, strive for impartiality in their coverage. Ultimately, I believe that a thriving media landscape should be supported by a variety of funding sources, including private donations and sponsorships, rather than relying heavily on taxpayer funding. This approach encourages a wider range of voices and perspectives and helps ensure that publicly funded media remains accountable to all citizens."
Wittman #VA1 wants Virginians uninformed and partisan by cutting NPR/PBS. Rural areas will suffer most as they rely most on fed funds[1]. But public broadcasting in VA gets just 10% of its funding from the feds[1]. Wittman won't defend NPR bc it doesn't lean right[2] & he's a party-line patsy!

Congressman Wittman: "I do have the opportunity for that impact as the appropriations process begins to play itself out. I'll have the opportunity to talk to the appropriators about what they do in putting money into these different areas and making sure that we can emphasize these areas of research and how it is important that the nation invest in those areas. People want to make sure that there is efficiency in the dollars that we spend. Everybody should want that. I want to make sure those dollars are most efficiently and effectively spent. And I think that you can do both. I think you can communicate what are the expectations about how these dollars should be used to make sure there's accountability and transparency, but also to make sure that we are making the investments in the right areas to assure that we have good science going on that helps our nation. ... I'm going to be very vocal with our appropriators as to the decisions they make and how they appropriate dollars in these areas."
On VCU and UVA grant funding being cut off, Wittman #VA1 says he'll "be very vocal with our appropriators" about it. He is a US congressman! He *IS ONE OF THE APPROPRIATORS*!
