Smooth swingin' into hump day w/ "The Incredible Jimmy Smith." Another from yesterday's trade, this 1963 Blue Note LP is an elusive fairly clean original mono first press (Plastylite ear, Van Gelder stamp in dead wax, etc.). Not mint - some inevitable light scuffs - but generally playing great as old Blue Notes can. First spin on my secondary turntable, I actually prefer how it was sounding on the better deck but want to make sure there are no hidden landmines among those scuffs. So far, so good. For those reading not in the know, Jimmy Smith (and vintage soul jazz LPs in general) were typically hard-played party platters so finding early editions in any sort of decent condition is a needle-in-haystack proposition. These are typically pretty wrecked! Now I can purge two other copies I had (one stereo).

Ik ben het helemaal eens met Elianne. Er wordt veel te laks en onverschillig over wat types als #Duk, #vanGelder etc eruit braken.
Bovendien als ik me niet vergis, wil Duk zeker een burgeroorlog.
Anders kan ik zijn uitlatingn daaromtrent niet verklaren.

Confrontatie tussen Bontenbal en Van Gelder geeft blijk van een cultuurstrijd - Joop - BNNVARA Er loopt een kloof door Nederland en die heeft niets met links of rechts te maken.
