Wisteria getting ready for the show!

It wasn't a bad day, overcast but mild and dry. I do love the views across the Mawddach estuary.

The last day of winter. It's the Vernal Equinox tomorrow, and what I count as the first day of spring, although it's trying hard to be summer today.

The flowering currant (Ribes sanguineum) is currently flowering.

...and the soles were loose. I know the feeling.

Lovely light this morning. Although I was below the snow line, there were many snowy peaks about.

Fresh mint, as fresh as mint can be...

Corporate needs you to find the difference between these two pairs of boots.

They're the same boots.

Only 21 months of everything a garden can throw at them between them. It had to be done, there were holes everywhere...

A rainy, foggy day. The Mawddach estuary is still beautiful, mind.

More flowers emerging. Moistened daffodils and Viburnum tinus.

Of course, it cleared up just as I soggily finished work for the day.

Some pretty Cyclamen and a tiny little dog violet under an apple tree.

The Wisteria has attachment issues, but I've licked it into shape and given it its winter prune.

The view down Cader road from outside the monastery.

Even when the weather is less than pleasant, the views are still amazing, and occasionally the sun comes out.

I may have missed the aurora again last night, and the afternoon may have been grey and soaking wet.

But, by golly, the sunrise was magnificent!

How it started versus how it ended up.

First day back and a soaking in the afternoon after a lovely crisp bright snowy start.

Same as it ever was.

Some flowers (etc.) of December.

A rainy rose.

Little lichen grove.

Rhododendron 'Christmas Cheer' understanding the assignment.

Well, the nice weather didn't last long. Although one of the lovely things about the area is that, even when the weather's terrible, the scenery is still beautiful.

One advantage of the shorter days as we approach the Solstice is the opportunity to see spectacular sunrises. Like this morning.

At one point, the sun came out and I had to take off my jumper for a bit! That ain't right.

When I meet people this time of year and they find out I'm a gardener, they tend to say 'Oh, things must be quietening down now'.

It feels like ages since I've been outside. Nice day for it.

Some lovely primroses were basking in the wintery sunshine.

Back to it in the beautiful surrounds of North Wales after a lovely couple of days away in Manchester to see Dirty Three in fine company.

Also after the Harlech Art and Craft Fair at the weekend.

A hopeful start, and visibility was excellent, all the way to Ynys Môn.

I was very closely supervised, as usual. I don't think it's always the same robin, but who knows?

The sun finally came out (although the rain didn't quite stop) just as I was, coldly and damply, putting my gear away and struggling out of my soggy waterproofs. The second photograph is of this morning's, somewhat obscured, view.

A me, happy not to be being rained on.

As was the preening crow in the oak.

More beautiful autumn colours and misty vistas over the Mawddach estuary.

It was such a changeable day, there was even sunshine (what!) this afternoon.

A wood sorrel (Oxalis) flower in the low autumn afternoon sun.

Ominous clouds over Cadair Idris as my bear basked in the sunshine.
