Seven Magic Mountains located just 10 miles south of the Las Vegas Strip is a unique art display by Ugo Rondinone. The display consists of 7 towering, neon-colored limestone boulder stacks that rise 30-35 ft in the desert. It’s free to visit, and on-site parking is available. The colorful rock sculptures have become a popular tourist attraction, but they sit on BLM land. The BLM lease expires in 2026, and sadly, at this time, the cherished artwork is scheduled to be relocated to a yet-to-be-determined site. The BLM’s decision not to renew the Seven Magic Mountains lease past 2026 is not tied to airport expansion, despite earlier reports. The non-renewal may be procedural or policy driven, likely factors include environmental concerns, lease term limits, or strategic land reallocation, but the BLM has not provided a clear public rationale for the move.
