A Blue Heron stands on a wet tree root in a channel. Autumn leaves of orange scatter on the nearby shore and set off the blue feathers of the large bird.

Probably my favourite Blue #Heron photo, taken during our trip back to Clutesi Marina in Port Alberni, #WCVI #BC after an October day on the water. We have a small colony behind us now in Ontario. I can only get so close to them though as they are very shy. Love watching them fly low over the river.

This was known to us at a Bamfield Bear. Up the channel from Port Alberni, #WCVI. A black bear known for the pretty white triangle on its chest. A unique marker to the #Bamfield area #bears. Loved seeing them.
