Lots to reflect on in the closing session at #WFOT2026 about the future of the profession - key takeaways for my practice:
- Equipping our #SalfordUniOT graduates with entrepreneurship and leadership skills is key
- We need to encourage and support students to make global networks whilst studying
Huge congratulations to Lorrae Mynard who is presenting exciting research findings re., occupational formulation at #WFOT2026

Message from Samantha Shann, posted on Facebook on 21 January about her 25+ service with the World Federation and the Council meeting in Bangkok.
Bit strange that @theRCOT hasn't yet posted about #WFOT2026 on social media.
Or have I missed it on Facebook, X and Bluesky?
Here's a message from Sam Shann, President @theWFOT

Listening to the AI symposium at #WFOT2026
Karen Jacobs (session chair) says the question not how AI will touch our profession but how we as OTs engage with it.
AI WILL be used in OT and reflect priorities, assumptions and blind spots of those who engage with it, therefore OTs need to engage
Interesting thoughts from Elspeth Froude at #WFOT2026 - goal setting should come before assessment in OT process so that assessment and evaluation focus on occupational participation
Also a scary stat -research takes 17 yrs to get into practice-how can we as OT's support knowledge translation?
Announcement in Paris about a 'collation of the global history of occupational therapy' to mark the 75th anniversary of the World Federation.

Eagerly awaiting an update ink #WFOT2026 about collating the #OTHistory in each country for 75th WFOT anniversary.
