In response to reckless driving on local highways, #WestVanPolice worked with RCMP Air Services, proactively targeting high-risk driving behaviours on the Upper Levels #HWY1 and Sea to Sky #HWY99. With the help of helicopter Air 1, officers issued a total of 68 tickets.

Shortly after 8 am Saturday morning, #WestVanPolice patrolling HWY 1 pulled over an impaired driver speeding at 155km/h. He was fined, issued a 90 day driving prohibition, and immediately had his vehicle towed and impounded for 30 days at his expense.

Ch’ich’iyuy is used for educational journeys to raise awareness, celebrate Coast Salish culture, and strengthen the relationship between First Nation Peoples and Police.
