2020 was different. For the first time, #WWDC was fully online - and the #SSC officially began.
Public transport and accessibility matter. But what if transport exists… and people who need it simply can’t use it.
I was awarded the #WWDCScholarship twice in #WWDC17 and #WWDC19. My work was also featured in #SwiftStudentChallenge in #WWDC20 and #WWDC21.🏆
It was a huge cheer for me to be a better and better developer! It also allowed me to participate in the #AppleEvent for the first time!

Due to COVID, #Apple adapted, hosting the first entirely online #WWDC. 🦠😷
A silver lining: #WWDC20 Labs went online, making direct contact with #Apple engineers accessible to all. 🧑💻👨💻👩💻

Because Apple got some good press by using Final Cut Pro at #WWDC20 (A full version for Apple Silicon will be available on day one of the hardware), the #fcpx team might not be under any pressure (from the rest of Apple) to get an update out before then. November?
I continue to be so impressed with the quality and polish of this remote #WWDC20. Thanks to everyone at Apple working on it, to make sure we still have the opportunity to learn and connect this week. I really appreciate all your hard work. 🙌
All the Final Cut talk in yesterday’s #WWDC20 keynotes means
1. Apple don’t _have to_ release an update any time soon
2. The next update might not be huge
3. The next big update will probably come at the end of the year
4. It might be version 11.0

macOS Big Sur will start a new numbering scheme: macOS 11.0
I expect that any ‘X’s left in other Mac-related branding will be gone once macOS 11.0 is released

Each application in macOS Big Sur will be able to define it’s own highlight colour - usually the primary colour used in its icon.

Part of the macOS UI includes all Mac application icons having the same ‘squaricle’ shape, like iPad/iOS apps

iOS and iPad apps will run on Apple Silcon. macOS Big Sur will create standard menu bars for them. They will appear in the Applications folder but will be moveable to any location on your storage - like a Mac application.
iOS app extensions will work with Mac apps

Intel-based application extensions and device drivers will automatically converted by Rosetta 2
Intel Kernel Extensions will not run on Apple Silcon (no Rosetta 2 emulation)

Apps on the App Store will be automatically converted to Apple Silicon on installation using Rosetta 2 - without the developer doing anything. Non App Store Apps will be converted on first run
