It fell, blanketing beauty and eyesore alike. A veneer, a mask – But so lovely. So, so lovely that the pitted ground where the gas line was mended is now one with the untouched green moss not far from the gashes. The yellow tape, fallen and also gently covered by the snow – A warning we can no longer see; and maybe we don't want to. But oh, if you step there... You'll know. I walked for the first time in years this evening by myself after dark. Something about the snow made the darkness unimportant, seemingly non-existent, even. But it was still there, threats and all.
