Info about the conservative war on empathy

I grow increasingly worried about the war on empathy. As though "the ability to share someone else's feelings or experiences by imagining what it would be like to be in that person's situation" (Cambridge Dictionary) was a bad thing. We need more understanding and connection. Not less.

The motivation people have to avoid compassion and love I can not relate to it. All over the world. People just seem so motivated to favor bad.

Empathy is a barrier against cruelty for the true Christian so it must be rationalized away if the central objective is cruelty.
