These Frankenmaple-walnut squares started as healthy walnut-oatmeal cookies that sadly tasted like high-fibre cardboard. So I added some melted butter and brown sugar to the remaining dough, pressed it into a pan, poured over a maple syrup- walnut topping and baked it like pecan squares.
