This is a change of pace for me. I don't normally focus on humans as my subjects. When covid hit, and we were all isolating... I had stopped drawing chalk drawings for our neighborhood kids. One of them, Declan, decided to reach out to me. In our mailbox I found a little hand written note with a cartoon drawing of a Simpsons character!!! This kicked off a months long exchange. He would create some art, which I strongly encouraged, with a little hand written note. I would do the same. I focused on things I knew he loved, Star Wars, Calvin & Hobbes... but he also love fishing, maybe most of all. So His mother shared a photo of him with on of the fish he caught. I tried several times to get it right... still not happy with this final result. But I gave this one to him. He loved it, and his family loved it. He is a young man now, and his mother shared this image with the world, so I know it's okay to share.
