Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus)
Hoping to finish some of the birds that I started drawing before Christmas. Some I havent done before and others I will be revisiting.

A Waxwings perched on a twig, looking directly at the photographer (me!) with what seems to be a stern look on his or face. The bird as seen here has a pale, buff-coloured chest, white belly, black wings with white markings, black legs, a tail which is red below and has yellow tips to the feathers, a tuft of buff-coloured feathers on the head which are a richer brown colour at the base, above the eyes, black eye-stripes, and a large black throat patch.

My photos of the delightful, friendly Waxwings at Brandon Marsh on Friday have gone down well, so here's another.

This portrait is entitled, "Wot are you lookin' at, mate?!?"
