75 years ago, this Medal of Honor recipient braved a 'death-sown' minefield to reach 2 injured soldiers After two soldiers were grievously wounded by German anti-personnel mines, Medal of Honor recipient Army Pvt. William D. McGee went forward alone to rescue them.

US Army medic Pvt. William D. McGee of Indianapolis was posthumously received the Medal of Honor for his heroics #OTD in 1945.

He was KIA while rescuing two severely injured soldiers crossing the Moselle River in Germany.
