A light pink, hexagonal piece of soap on a napkin on a wooden table. It has a honeycomb pattern on top studded with Himalayan salt (the bright pink crystals). There's also the vague shape of a bee in the upper right corner but the salt makes it hard to see. This is my soap after I turned it out of the mould.
I was able to turn out my soap before I left. The top is a honeycomb design with a bee. I also added Himalayan pink salt so I coloured it pink to match. It smells lightly sweet and citrusy with a hint of royal jelly.

A grey hexagonal silicone mould with shimmery pink liquid in it (my freshly poured soap) on a white desk. Behind it is a group of three brown dropper bottles labelled from left to right as "Golden Honey", "Sweet Orange", and "Orange" (the bottles contain essential oils). Next to them on the right is a glass salt or pepper shaker with some pale pink powdered dye in the bottom (this is what made my soap pink and shimmery). In the background of the shot are another two essential oil bottles but the labels are blurred by the camera settings so they're not readable.
I visited the Wellcome Collection and made soap at a workshop to encourage handwashing as it's World Hand Hygiene Day tomorrow. My soap has a shea butter base with pink shimmer, sweet orange, orange, & golden honey scents added.

A view of the reading room at Wellcome Collection. It's a tall, vaulted room with a gallery holding lots of bookshelves. The centre of the ceiling has a line of large, minimalist chandeliers made up of groups of bulbs with small white lampshades suspended from rings. The room has dark wood-panelled flooring across most of it, with plush red carpet in some of the seating areas. The walls are painted white. Along the right hand wall is a row of paintings. At the back of the room is a large group of duck egg blue sofas with wooden fittings and a staircase with piles of cushions for people to take to sit on. On the left side is a small partition with lots of papers on it with a book on a low table in front of it.
I visited the Wellcome Collection again today for the found myself in the reading room while I waited for an event to begin. It's so, so cosy. Next time I visit I'm taking my knitting up with me and chilling out for a while.

The #WellcomeCollection @wellcomecollection.bsky.social ought to buy this portrait
Two bags on a plinth in front of a geometric background of white LED lights. The left bag is a medium-sized paper bag from the brand itsu (a healthy-eating-focused East Asian fast-casual food brand). It has the brand name itsu with the tagline "eat beautiful", and below that a large pink outline of a butterfly with text about itsu's healthiness and the ingredients they use (I'd transcribe it but most of it is too small and I don't have the bag anymore). The right bag is a large off-white tote bag with a bright pink rabbit on it with the text "London LOOP gorgeous knitting supplies" underneath
An A5 booklet from an exhibition on a dark wooden table. It has some text and a large dark green watercolour image of a group of protesters holding signs. The text reads "wellcome collection HARD GRAFT WORK, HEALTH AND RIGHTS 19 September 2024 - 27 April 2025“
A packet of chocolate covered strawberries. The packet is off-white with a large picture of some chocolate coated dried strawberries, with one cut in half to show the product. Most of the text is in Japanese (which I can't read to transcribe). The English text says MUJI Strawberries Coated with Milk Chocolate 80g
After visiting Loop I checked out the nearby shopping centre. I got lunch at itsu and checked out MUJI. I also visited the Wellcome Collection which has an exhibition on exploited workers and one on the body, disability, and disease.

Photo of black drapes with the word Milk written in white in the style of dripped or split milk.
Photo of shelf of white ceramic pots, vases and bottles, in the style of various milk containers
Photo of 4 brown shelves of creamer jugs in the shape of cows. They are all different colours and patterns and from the Potteries Museum.
So it's #MilkDay, who knew? So I can only post about the 2023 Milk display at #WellcomeCollection. Riveting look at history of milk: breastfeeding, dairy production, nutrition, agriculture & politics. As someone who's from dairy farming stock (& whose dad hates milk 😂), it was v thought-provoking.

Fascinating range of objects and artworks in #CultofBeauty at #wellcomecollection, emphasising historical, discriminatory, contested ideas of beauty. Interesting how many beauty procedures/products began as medical treatments!
Six laser cut jewellery pieces on cards, hanging in the Wellcome Collection Gift shop. Top left is a fern brooch, top right is a horse skeleton necklace, mid left is an eyeball necklace, mid right is a harpy brooch, bottom left is a mushroom brooch and bottom right is an inner ear. All are laser cut onto plywood.
My work is up at the #WellcomeCollection! It's been a long time coming!
