Watercolor Gouache painting depiction of John Wayne portraying Captain Nathan Brittles in John Ford's classic film She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, one of a trilogy of Cavalry movies and one of two where Wayne wore a mustache in a leading role. In this mostly monochromatic painting ,the style is portrait and the subject is looking slightly right. The only color on the painting is the yellow of the suspenders and the hatband and the blue of Wayne's eyes.
