Mella Shaw’s Award-Winning Sounding Line Opens in Dundee Standing beneath the famous skeleton of the Tay Whale at The McManus in Dundee, it’s hard not to feel the weight of history. And from 24 May, that weight will be joined by something contemporary, tactile and arresting: Mella Shaw’s award-winning installation Sounding Line, a deeply moving exploration of marine sound pollution and its devastating impact on whales. For Shaw, the project began with a moment of visceral clarity.

"Whales hold a unique place in the human psyche," says Mella Shaw of her Sounding Line installation. Explore how sound pollution impacts marine life in Dundee from 24 May.
