Tomorrow will be the first day to introduce my "created", more like channeled Zork language for magick to my witchy friends in Imbolc celebration. I am working with it for a while and, goshess, is that stuff strong.

#TarotSky #WhitchSky
This is gonna take a while. Not only on the I Ching but also, essentially, a Taoist grimoire. So far, I'm loving it

Hello, Today I'm looking at the 8 of Cups, in this deck called Indolence. It's Halloween and we're entering the darker part of the year, and the cards are giving obvious signs as usual. The 8 of Cups is about recognition of fear. Specifically, it is about recognizing when you've withdrawn your love from a situation out of fear, even if you were fully prepared to make use of the system you yourself have put in place. Trust is a difficult thing. Our trust can be broken by one and have implications for our ability to trust even those who have not hurt us. I think when we scratch the surface we find that we've actually been made not to trust ourselves. This card depicts the well of our love almost dried up, but the structure of the well remains. That is a function of our habits, our planned behaviors, time and action over greater scales. It may seem even more daunting when you withdraw the love and see the skeleton of the aqueduct we've built. But often I think it's daunting because we
find ourselves so easily able to fill it again. I'm not one to say that boundaries are bad, quite the opposite, but I'm also not saying a free flow is especially safe. What I am saying is that there are a series of dams we've set up, we control the walls of this structure. It is less a compartmentalization and more being healthy with our boundaries that we're looking for. Setting up boundaries in one direction should not mean closing ourselves off in another. This is a complicated structure, you should know you built it yourself. It's still standing even when you've removed the input. Even when we feel broken, like there is no more love left to input, the structures remain. You'll find it quite easy to tip the love in, and all you have to do is climb the short journey to the top of the structure you've been on top of plenty of times before. Love you, have a good Samhain [cards are front and back 8 of Cups from the Thoth Deck]

Happy Samhain!
[photos are of the front and back of the Four of Wands from the Thoth Deck. The cards are lying on a red wooden table whose paint is cracking showing bare wood. Sunlight drapes the scene] Hello :3 Today I'm looking at the 4 of Wands, known sometimes as Completion. The 4 of Wands to me, being the self-doubting gremlin that I am, is permission to enjoy my own success-- and to use that good feeling to spurn me on. It's recognition that you absolutely can reach a goal and you have done so before. It's the card of drive. In that good feeling of accomplishment, there is another thing being asked of us from this card too. It wants us to examine why things went the way they did. Often in our failures we wrack our brains, spending inordinate amounts of time and energy figuring out how to avoid this bad feeling, this failure, again. This card invites us maybe not to spend so much time torturing ourselves, but some time at least examining the good we've done to reach this success.
You didn't accidently complete that project, you got to work. Let's think about the habits you've formed or are trying to form, the set and setting you put yourself in, and so on. If it helps think of examining your own successes like another project. Notice your methods and flow, test them in the future, your results on the next project will be your data. It is important to note, 4 in tarot almost always signifies a collaboration-- the suit bolsters this, with wands being a collaboration between swords and cups as I've discussed before. This advice applies to those around you as well. We're quick to examine someone else's failing, but we should build people up-- especially if we're working with them in any capacity (except your boss). Point out your colleagues successes as well, examine how your work compliments theirs and vice versa. Lift yourself up and it'll be easier to lift up those who help lift you up.

Hello, As I have started to pick up more hours at work, and because of other internal factors, I have slowed down how much I'm posting and I think that's fine. There are less than 80 cards anyway so spreading this out makes sense, although I'm not opposed to writing multiple entries for the same card and I think I might have done that once already. Anyway, today I'm looking at the 2nd Major Arcana, the High Priestess, or just Priestess in some decks. I've always viewed this card in a similar light as the 10 of Swords I've written about recently-- that is, as a warning against solipsism. But this card takes it a bit further. In tarot, especially the Major Arcana, the Fool is the main character. Set down the path to become the magician he encounters many characters and forces that shape him into a well rounded individual. The Empress is really the first person he meets who isn't a mirror.
The Empress asks us to be patient and have grace for those around us struggling on their journey, or even struggling to find their own path. Having this softness serves multiple purposes. Engaging in empathy will always make you a softer, kinder person. It will also give you more practice at deploying that same empathy when you turn the eye inward. The Priestess experiments, she's not afraid to make mistakes or deploy unconventional methods for the sake of self-exploration. Case in point: she is depicted often (although not here) with the the bow that belonged to Artemis-- but is shown most often using it as some sort of harp or lute. She's a reminder that we're all picking tools from a limited box. Don't discount someone because they have different tools or methods than you. Instead give them a little credit upfront and determine truly if there's any new skill or benefit you can glean.
[all three images are taken by me, front and back of the 2nd Major Arcana, the High Priestess, from the Mountain Dream Tarot deck by Bea Nettle] But also don't be afraid to offer your own knowledge. Maybe you use that edge in a different way they hadn't thought of. We better each other through shared information. I think also she's a good first glimpse at the idea of enlightenment being but a temporary, cyclical state. It's not a goal because we are not omniscient. No matter how wise some might view her in specific situations, she is always taking in new information. She is never done learning, reshaping her own views. She is unafraid of changing positions and will let go of her ego if it betrays the realities at hand. 🌘💧
