Here's a fun fact: the #3DS seems to not share settings between the cameras when it takes pictures. So for any shot, each camera might choose slightly different settings.

The same scene 7 minutes later. The sun has broken free of the cloud bank, and warm pink light now touches sections of mist, and gently illuminates the scene as a whole. Seven minutes can change everything sometimes.

Excuse this personal indulgence; these shots were taken 7 minutes apart, and nobody here needs instruction on the fleeting nature of sunrise, but it amused me how much this scene changed.

Sunrise over the sea, viewed from an escarpment. The sun has risen, but is obscured behind a bank of low cumulus sitting on the horizon, and the sea and clouds are a light blue-grey. A single errant puff of cloud has climbed into the light, and is blazing yellow, like a cockade. In the mid-ground the land is mostly dark, patches of white mist visible, and a dam shining a dull yellow. The whole scene is framed on the right by the silhouette of part of a large eucalypt.
The same scene as the previous shot, but the sun has just climbed above the cumulus and although still shining through thin cloud has bathed the scene in orange light. Where everything previously was cool blue, now its warm orange.

A pair of sunrises from Bald Knob. It's wonderful the rapid change from cool to warm, moments apart.
