1975 was declared International Women’s Year. 50 years on, the ‘revolution in our heads’ is still being fought Australia was a trailblazer from the inception of International Women’s Year. But despite the gains, there are still forces pushing back against women’s empowerment.

Only problem, not since the #WhitlamGovernment has an Aus Govt been proactively: “A 1975 population inquiry concluded AUS should anticipate & respond to #demographic challenges, rather than seek to influence them. The 90s report found [we] needed to be proactive in responding to population changes.”
