NASA-NOAA Satellites Show Smoke Complicates Wildfire Lightning Risk
A study on the Sparks Lake fire reveals that while wildfires can generate clouds producing lightning, this doesn't necessarily heighten the risk of new fires.
Smoke may even reduce the chance of igniting ground fires.
