Fuggono dal recinto e si abbuffano di miele: l'avventura di due orsi Roma, 24 giu. (askanews) - È scattato l'allarme a Wildwood Trust, parco faunistico nel Kent nel Sud-Ovest della Gran Bretagna, dopo che Mish e Lucy, due orsetti fratelli di quattro anni, sono fuggiti dal loro recinto. Si sono diretti verso il deposito del cibo e le telecamere di sorveglianza hanno ripreso Lucy mentre affonda letteralmente e ingordamente il muso nel miele, ha mangiato la scorta di una settimana. I due orsi "non hanno mai rappresentato una minaccia", hanno fatto sapere i guardiani del parco, precisando che però i "visitatori sono stati accompagnati in un edificio sicuro per precauzione". Un'avventura durata circa un'ora, in cui gli orsi sono stati monitorati attraverso le telecamere a circuito chiuso, fino a quando sono stati riportati nel loro recinto e belli sazi si sono addormentati. Ora si indaga per capire come possano essere fuggiti. Mish e Lucy erano arrivati a Wildwood nel 2021 dopo essere stati abbandonati dalla madre in un cumulo di neve sulle montagne albanesi. Dopo diversi tentativi per reintrodurli in natura, è apparso chiaro che non potevano ancora sopravvivere da soli.

Throwback to last month where I attend a small #mammal trapping and handling course by the Mammal Society at the #WildwoodTrust in Kent. I learnt to use #Longworth traps and handle the species caught. In the photos are pymgy #shrew, #HarvestMouse, and a wood #mouse, but we also caught a field #vole!

In September, the South East Ambassadors visited #WildwoodTrust! 🌿

They helped survey the site and saw some incredible wildlife up close!🐭
