After an eventful week, the two nerds can hide away in a workshop for a moment of peace and quiet. Deu can pretend to be asleep, so that no one accuses him of being gay for the Second Promise. mmmhmmm. Foolproof plan.

Deu's been gone for a while and Koana only heard rumours of a Cosmic Exploration co-sponsored by Sharlayan. Dealing with all the politics made him really envy his friend, so you can imagine his excitement when one day Deu showed up with an incredible machine and "kidnapped" him for a little test flight.
He got to steer the Vacuum Suit while Deu rambled into his ear about all the technicalities of it. A mix of Sharlayan and Garlean technology sounded incredibly fascinating and Koana definitely enjoyed it more than another crowded gathering at the Palace.
Day 7 - Celebrate #8DaysofKoana2025
Big gatherings in Tuliyollal to celebrate the The Rite of Succession sure can be nice, but Deu somehow knows better what Koana would like. He took the new Vow of Reason on a flight across Tural in his certified Vacuum Suit.

"I promise you that I'll make sure your sister doesn't get hurt while we find Zarool Ja." Ziero muttered softly to Koana, curled his finger under the other's chin, and tilted Koana's head up to look at him.
"...It's not just my sister that I'm worrying about. It's you, Ziero. I'm afraid to lose you, too." Koana muttered softly, gripping the other's forearm with fear and worry mixed within his purple-colored eyes.
"Then, I'll be fine, cariño," Ziero spoke softly, leaning forward as he pressed a gentle yet tender kiss onto Koana's forehead. "I'll come back to you, I swear."

With losing his father and the people he cared about, the fear of losing Ziero surfaced, but Ziero swore he would come back with a tender kiss on Koana's head to seal his promise.

Koana laments that he wasn't able to protect his family. Maybe, perhaps... if he'd only been stronger, or more present, a better son or a better brother... maybe he could have helped change the trajectory of events.

When Thancred rushed after the kidnappers, Deu was left with Koana to wait for any information from him. He felt awkward watching the Second Promise reacting so emotionally, because he never knew how to be a support in such a situation.
Koana probably didn't even think Deu would react to his tantrum and fully expected him to leave. He was surprised to feel Viera's hand on his back and no mockery in his voice.
It was weird, but Deu could understand exactly how Koana felt at that moment. He knew if something would've happened to Kouki, he'd absolutely lose it and turn the entire continent upside down to save him.
It was awkward for both of them - showing such vulnerable side to someone they've only known for a few weeks. And yet it felt comforting for Koana to know Deu was the one who saw him like this and trusted him enough to show his softer side in return.
Day 6 - Vulnerable #8DaysofKoana2025
Back when Wuk Lamat was kidnapped in the middle of the race, Deu witnessed Koana's emotional outburst for the first time. He never knew how to cheer someone up in a vulnerable moment, but could relate to how the Second Promise felt.
