"We did it, Queen Sphene." Roxanne's armor shined radiantly with the sun rising above the golden city.
Sphene looked up at her, her hero. Her knight. She had to take her chance. No other moment than this would do.
Sphene lunged forward, wrapping Roxanne in an embrace, her lips reaching up for hers. Roxanne's arms flail a bit, unsure how to process what's happening as it's happening.
Soon she returns the embrace, holding her in her arms. The queen and knight have both achieved their fairy tale ending.
