#WomenInLibraries: Mary Jones was fired from her role as Los Angeles City Librarian to be replaced by a man, leading to the Great Library War of 1905, marked by protests and public outrage. Sexism prevailed and she moved on to become Bryn Mawr College Librarian.

#WomenInLibraries: Dr Carla Hayden is the first African American and the first woman to be appointed as Librarian of Congress. She focused on modernising and digitising the institution and rendering books accessible. A former ALA president, she advocated for the Spectrum Scholarship Program.
