A statement by the Illinois Alliance for Reentry and Justice that reads as follows: In solidarity with the National General Strike called upon by activists and organizations across the United States in support of workers and unions, all ILARJ operations are suspended for today, March 14, 2025. The idea of "Rest as Resistance" is restorative for the whole community in how it shows what we can achieve if we put people over profits. In this moment, we also call on participants to remember the over 800,000 incarcerated workers who are unable to join us.
