Every two years, World Design Organization invites cities and regions worldwide to bid for the World Design Capital® designation. WDC is intended for cities that strategically leverage design to drive economic, social, cultural, and environmental progress.
The bid process brings together government, industry, academia, and the local design community to shape a shared vision for sustainable urban development. Designated cities have used the WDC platform to strengthen creative industries, attract investment and tourism, and elevate their international profile.
