The endless love triangle that seems to take place in some mystery series. I mean, come on. I get it taking place over the course of one story, but book after book?
Seems to me someone would toss hands and walk away. #writingcommunity #writingtropes #cozymystery
New blog article announcement: "Bad aro-ace tropes." Representation of aromantic and asexual people in fiction is often a flattening, dehumanizing, villainizing stereotype. In other words, real, human, positive aro and ace experiences aren't part of the mainstream narrative--yet. Read more at briaredits.com.

Snippet from my manuscript, it reads: He’s still so afraid of himself, she thought. “Do you want me to stop?” His crimson eyes flitted open to meet her gaze. “No, I don’t.” He sighed again, his breath shaking. “It scares me, though; becoming close to you.” “I know.” Yumiko’s ears swiveled. “I can take care of myself, remember?” His gaze faltered, fixating onto the ground. “It’s me who can’t.”
I enjoy writing vulnerability 🖤

Is he a gentleman?
Does he remain so?
If you answered yes to both of these, it's Gothic.
Cheers!

So I've noticed a few things about my writing :
- there's always something green in it (eyes, a room, fav' piece of clothing, etc.)
- both characters will probably be maimed at some point. Shoulders and ankles injuries preferred
- food is omnipresent.

Imagine a typical soulmate story where the soulmates are meant to be together and they can feel when the other is near and so that
Except fate says they have to end up with the wrong person
Someone should totally write that

I was never head over heels for the "who did this to you?" conversation until my mfc said it to mmc2 after he revealed his arcane scarring for the first time. I didn't even realize the line was coming, but once it was there, I was all the emotions - I get it now #writer #writingtropes #fantasywriter
