Generally speaking, #Xwayland should be avoided for gaming where possible (which still isn't always possible, especially until Steam fix their overlay). The high latency people experience after switching from #X11 to #Wayland does not come from Wayland itself, but the indirection of this legacy […]
There currently are two recent #Phoronix articles that are shared widely, comparing #KDE KWin 6.6 vs #Gnome Mutter 50 in terms of game performance (one for AMD, one for Nvidia). What it lacks to me is a disclosure whether this is comparing the pure #Wayland compositor performance or more […]
I am proud to present the clipboardstealer, written in #rust (which is a clipboardmanager for the #terminal in an #X11 / #xwayland environment in #linux). It can be found at crates.io/crates/clipb... . Let me know what you think. #clipboardmanager

I don't understand the point of Wayback, given that Xwayland already runs fine on various Wayland compositors.

So… yesterday was the first time I used the screenshare feature with #Discord on #Wayland without piping it through a #xwayland bridge or a virtual webcam first and it just worked. Even for hours.
Yes yes "Discord bad" but damn… I'm happy that this finally works. That was like a roadblock […]
