I thought about selling the camera on the used goods marketplace #Xianyu and downplaying the shutter. The camera still took pictures, after all. You just had to roll a natural 20 for it to work.
Instead, I found a guy who repairs cameras in his part time, who fixed and #CLA ‘d it for 200 RMB.
Not shown here but the leatherette on the front sides of the camera is flaking and peeling. The case helps to protect it, though I’ll need to find a replacement eventually.
I had the bellows replaced and the camera CLA’d last year. P.S. I know the filter is dusty. It’s also 80 years old.
I haven’t shot the camera as much as I’d like because I was deathly afraid of dropping it. Folders don’t have strap lugs, generally speaking, so if you don’t have a case you have to maintain a death grip on the camera at all times. In addition, the exposed front element made lens flare an issue. Advantage - lens hood.
Not quite symmetrical but I still like the shot.
