Strengthening preparedness in Northern Africa and the Middle East was the focus of the workshop on contingency planning for #XylellaFastidiosa, co-organised by EPPO, NEPPO, FAO, BExYL and EFSA.

We contributed with sessions on the role of science and our monitoring tools for early detection.

EFSA updates Xylella host plant database EFSA has released an update of its Xylella species host plant database, which tracks plant species affected by the plant pathogen Xylella fastidiosa.

🆕 Xylella host plant database updated

Key findings:

🌿 A new host plant: Cantabrian mountain oak in 🇵🇹
🍇 Pierce’s disease strain found in grapes & almonds in 🇮🇹
📊 Total confirmed host species now at 452
