Strengthening preparedness in Northern Africa and the Middle East was the focus of the workshop on contingency planning for #XylellaFastidiosa, co-organised by EPPO, NEPPO, FAO, BExYL and EFSA.

We contributed with sessions on the role of science and our monitoring tools for early detection.

Key findings:

🌿 A new host plant: Cantabrian mountain oak in 🇵🇹
🍇 Pierce’s disease strain found in grapes & almonds in 🇮🇹
📊 Total confirmed host species now at 452
