3 pieces of fabric done in Purple Rayon chenille in Tunsian crochet with a picture of the finished project in the pattern.
I finished the last piece of a Tunisian crochet project, an Oxford Floor Pouf, using some rayon chenille I bought from WEBS over 2 decades ago. I am going to cover the cushion with a canvas fabric first. Sadly, I still have a boatload of the yarn left.

Left to right: 1. Emma’s Yarn Super Silky. It’s 80/20 SW/silk 2 ply with average twist 2. The Swiss yarn I posted about yesterday. It’s 75/25 SW/nylon 4 ply with a medium twist 3. Lichen and Lace. It’s an 80/20 SW/nylon 3 ply with a medium twist 4. Malabrigo. It’s an 80/20 SW/Nylon 3 ply with high twist. They’re all perfectly fine they’re just different. I usually prefer more twist. But in this case, the Malabrigo feels flat to me. As in the yarn doesn’t have the bounce that I usually expect from a higher twist yarn. For that reason, it’s my least favorite of these. Normally, I’d stay far away from the 2 ply but their colorways and softness offset that. I just come to grips with the knowledge that socks made with just 2 plies will not last as long. Lichen and Lace is one of my favorites so I’ll always go with that. But, that Swiss 4 ply (and yarns like it) will always be what I go to first. It’s going to wear like iron, is a joy to work with, and in this particular case, meets my top criteria of being absolutely gorgeous. Point is, you can use darn near any yarn for your socks. There’s no absolute right yarn. Just know what you’re dealing with and why you’re choosing it.
But if you know me, then you know that above all, I’m drawn to pretty colors like a moth to a flame. Which is the only reason I use Emma’s Yarn fingering weights. Their colors are gorgeous but they’re only 2 ply. Here’s a pic of some very different yarns. #Knitting #Socks #Yarn

Tubular bind off is probably the best way to close stitches of ribbing. It forms a neat edge without a ridge and with the same elasticity as the rib fabric.
