#YeSooJung 's most notable work is the film #AnOldLady, a drama about an elderly woman who is SA at the hospital where she's receiving treatment. The film created a debate about elderly women's vulnerability and place in society. She received the "Female Film of the Year" award for her performance.

#YeSooJung then got married and went to Germany with her husband. In 1984, she decided to study theater in Graduate School Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. After her return to Korea, she worked in Customer Call Center for two years.

It was Yoo who realized #YeSooJung was pursuing acting without her family's blessing, so he accompanied Ye to her home one day and convinced them. Of this, Ye has commented to be grateful for their family would have never allowed her at the time if not for a male director standing up for her.

#YeSooJung debuted professionally onstage in 1979 with Han Tae-suk's play A Woman Named Solitude. After seeing her in this play, Yoo Deok-Hyung (director, former chairman of the Seoul Institute of the Arts) scouted her for his work When Spring Comes to the Mountains and Fields.

After that, #YeSooJung joined a theater class at the German Cultural Center Above the Theater and started acting in secretly.

She studied the works of playwright Bertolt Brecht, and was part of Miller's Broken Glass and Ibsen's Ghosts produced by Korea University Theatre Arts Research Society.

#YeSooJung has a degree from the Korea National University of Arts in German Literature. During her school das, she watched film The Godfather and was extremely impressed by Marlon Brando's acting which made her want to try acting too.
