I caught a hasbara troll in my mentions like four days ago using a #yourslipisshowing playbook. Auto-replies to incite transphobia among Palestine supporters & anti-Iranian, anti-Black, and anti-Palestinian racism in the queer community. Some folks were even able to get the bot to break character.
+ watching my work with #YourSlipIsShowing be erased in real time via misgendering (sometimes thoughtless sometimes intentional), a couple of COVID infections, and discovering that the Epstein horror actually touches me directly twice over +

But this pattern of surveillance and copying predates the internet, it forms the basis of shit like minstrely, amerikkka's first form of mass popular entertainment, and the war on drugs, much of which took the form of criminalizing various forms of Black cultural expression

I've been moved in the years since #YourSlipIsShowing by learning about shit like myecelium and mycorrhizal networks, and how they exist/resist annihilation and disruptions to their systems. These networks feels closer to what me and my colleagues were doing during the 2010s.
One of the biggest tragedies of #YourSlipIsShowing, along with Shafiqah's passing, is the way that the changes these social media platforms made effectively squashed these Black and queer ecosystems of knowledge and education
And it wasn't on accident
And I appreciate OP highlighting the fact that there was a whole digital ecosystem of public knowledge making and resource sharing and that's what #YourSlipIsShowing was really about, not about the fact that white people didn't listen, who cares they never listen
