In the NT there is a 2 month limitation on action being taken against the police. The rest of Australia has a 6 year limitation. Delaying releasing the cctv and body cam footage from #kumanjayiwhite case could mean that it is not possible to prosecute in a potential homicide investigation. #Yuendumu
People all around Australia are standing in solidarity with #kumanjayiwhite family and the community of #Yuendumu. Everyone is calling for an immediate INDEPENDENT investigation of the police action + public release of cctv footage. The police + NT government refuse to allow an independent inquiry.
#Yuendumu has had 3 deaths in custody in ten years.
On 21st May 2015 #JapanangkaLangdon died in the Darwin Watchhouse.
On 9th November 2019 #KumanjayiWalker was shot and killed in Yuendumu.
On 27th May 2025 #JakamarraWhite died in an #AliceSprings supermarket during an arrest attempt. #justicenow
