The comms staffers were simply echoing #YukonCMOH, Dr. Sudit Ranade, a libertarian-leaning, failed Liberal candidate (so, yes, politically aspirant), who has always been more concerned that masking caused a "loss of personal autonomy".

My partner, who has stage-3 Colon Cancer, has spent weeks in the #Whitehorse Hospital, where there is no mask mandate & few staff mask. Because the #YukonCMOH has long fretted that mask mandates interfere with "personal autonomy", & believes COVID is just like "any other respiratory illness".
