There is a timbre of voice
that comes from not being heard
and knowing you are not being
heard noticed only
by others not heard
for the same reason.

My mission is to re-write a Black queer and trans visual history for South Africa for the world to know of our resistance.
Very much enjoying an afternoon annual leave at #TateModern.
Just left reflecting from the phenomenal #ZaneleMuholi exhibit.
Was lucky enough to see a great exhibition at the Tate Modern yesterday. #ZaneleMuholi #photography #activism
In a gallery at the Tate Modern, through windows with ladder-like divisions a distant view of St Paul’s Cathedral. In the gallery to the right of the window a figure in black clothes with Tate branding views a near life-size black and white photograph of a person in a bikini posing exuberantly between metal pillars supporting a structure built into the sea.
At the #ZaneleMuholi exhibition at the Tate Modern. Such a powerful account of the triumph and necessity of celebrating the joy of diversity, the strength of the struggle for which is placed unflinchingly in the context of the appalling conditions in which it grows.
