Hey Geographers and friends- what are you thinking for #AAG2025? It's such a weird time to be a geographer, I'm curious if folks are going to push the envelope and come up with bold, creative session ideas. I'm curious to hear!

It’s been long overdue (~1 month!) but I presented my initial findings in Social Media Geopolitics session at #AAG2025 in Detroit last month—all thanks to @casaucl.bsky.social Doctoral Student Conference Fund. My study revolves on digital participation in Jakarta, using government-app called Qlue.

This is such a good idea. I have zero design or artsy skills, but seems like a great opportunity to team up with someone who does. They had a whole zine fair and multiple zine sessions at the recent #AAG2025. @aag-tgsg.bsky.social we need more of this to share our transpo work.

Well, I owe the Detroit People Mover an apology. While I may have used it as an example of failed transit-as-revitalization projects and snickered at its one-way loop, I made something like 10 trips using the DPM last week at the #AAG2025 and it was great fun.

Had a heartening time at #AAG2025 especially organizing with @geogboycott.bsky.social — an antidote to despair in these times! Worth it to come home to 40+ ungraded midterms…
