I've been dealing with some mental issues lately, but I am getting better. Tonight's A Blast From the Past is an encore of my "You, Me, Them, Everybody" show from 3/16/24.
Tune in to hear it again it for the first time, 88.7 WICR on Indy or on the app of your choice. #abftp
It's been a long day of youth sports and refereeing and I'm falling fast. Thank you to everyone who tuned into the show tonight! Hope everyone has a good week! #abftp
You could say MC Hammer's "Addams Groove" was a bit polarizing. It was a Top 10 hit in 1991 and helped the soundtrack for the "Addams Family" movie top the album chart, but it also won't a Razzie Award for Worst Original Song.
#abftp
Unlike "Don't Look Back", I don't remember Information Society's "Think" at all. #abftp
Throwing in an instrumental for the letter H tonight with the gray Herb Alpert and "Route 101". The single was a hit back in 1982 when it was not uncommon for instruments to be Top 40 hits.
#abftp
A forgotten hit from the Fine Young Cannibals, "Don't Look Back" from their The Raw & The Cooked album. I hadn't heard it in ages, but it came right back to me when I heard it this week.
#abftp
You can see how the album cover for Crosby, Stills and Nash's "Line It Up" leaves a lot to be desired and ends up on today album covers lists.
#abftp
Bachman-Turner Overdrive's "You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet" was the only #1 for the band. And it was a song that was originally, never meant to be on an album.

I did do an alphabet show back in 2020 when I first started hosting the show. I thought it would be a fun theme to revisit. I have all new artists this time around, save one.
I hope you enjoy the show tonight!
#abftp
It's time once again for A Blast From the Past! I'm at the helm this evening. Tonight, it's all about the alphabet. We'll go from A all the way to Z.
We kick off the show with the group ABC and their hit "The Look of Love, Part 1".
#abftp
The Outfield's "Voices of Babylon" was a change for the band, from songs of girls and teenage romance to deeper themes like spiritual confusion. I really like the song.
And DO NOT tell me they are a one-hit wonder!!! #abftp
"Still the One" is my favorite Orleans song. I love to sing it, especially to my wife. ๐ #abftp
Huey Lewis & The News filmed the video for "Perfect World" in an actual dump. The band thought it was one of the best they filmed. Smelly, but fun. #abftp

If I'm going to play Duran Duran's "Hungry Like the Wolf", then I'm going to play the version with the extended intro. I like that one A LOT!
Jason and I still think that the moans at the end of the song are louder on this version than the radio edit. Do you agree? #abftp
The band with the best name on the show tonight, Doug and the Slugs with their 1984 song "Day By Day".
I think this is a fun song from the Vancouver band. It was also the theme song to the Norm Macdonald show of the late 90s. #abftp
For those of us that watched Schoolhouse Rock growing up, "3 Is a Magic Number" is quite memorable for us. Tonight's version is by Blind Melon from the 1996 tribute album "Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks". #abftp
It's time once again for A Blast From the Past! 3 is the magic number for the show tonight. All my songs will feature the number 3 in some way, shape or form.
We kick off the show with The Dog Night and their 1973 Top 3 hit, "Shambala". #abftp
I'm back at the helm this week for A Blast From the Past! Tonight will be brought to you by the number 3! Songs & bands with 3 in the title, songs that peaked at #3, bands with 3 Top 40 hits and more.
Tune in at 10p to 88.7 FM in Indy or @WICRonline on your favorite app.

LOLz -- I can't believe GWAR is still going!! #abftp
If you watched Saturday morning cartoons in the 70s and 80s, odds are you saw the Road Runner Show theme song at least once. #abftp

Oh hai... lots of fun stuff coming up having to do with #abftp! For now, be sure to bookmark abftp.com!
The guitar solo at the end of Lionel Richie's "Running with the Night"was done by Toto's Steve Lukather and was supposedly dinner in one take. The solo is a rather long one and Richie was so memorized he didn't tell Lukather that he could stop. It eventually just had out. #abftp
The Bangles' "Walking Down Your Street" is one of my favorite songs of theirs. It's just such a great and hits all the right buttons for me. #abftp
I'm not sure if I heard Yello's "The Race" before, but it is a fun and energetic song. It is Europe's version of their song "Oh Yeah!" From the Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Secret of My Success movies. #abftp
If the song "Sidewalk Talk"sounds like a Madonna song, well that's because it is! Madonna wrote the song and gave it to g her boyfriend at the time, the NYC club DJ known as Jellybean. She also arranged the vocals and sang background vocals. #abftp
After some running with Paul McCartney and Wings, let's "Walk the Dinosaur" with Was (Not Was).
They are not a one-hit wonder by the way!
#abftp
It's time once again for A Blast From the Past! We kick off the #exercise show with Sir Paul McCartney and Wings with their big hit "Band on the Run".
Tune in on 88.7 FM @WICRonline or on the smart app of your choice. #abftp
It's my turn at helm for A Blast From the Past this week. With the turn of the year, I thought an Exercise theme was fitting this week. Songs & bands with walk, run, jump and more in the name will be heard.
Tune in at 10 to WICR 88.7 in Indy or on the app of your choice.
