It is, it's lovely, but prairie is a whole different climate to what we're seeing here. And a different altitude.
This is dry steppe. I recognized it right away from living in Santa Fe. This is set in the California mountains tho.

It's the funniest thing, because it's hard to be historically accurate with that anyway. And yet, some actors make it really convincing, even if they're just doing straight-up British.
