Kind of a long shot, but does anyone have an Embassy suite and want to trade for a King room at the Joinery, for Anthrocon 2026 room bookings? Most of our group is at the Embassy but we ended up with one at the Joinery, happy to cover the cost differences, etc etc.

Here’s A thought: don’t make fundamental parts of the con experience (hotels) pay to play. The early hotel block for supersponsors was a mistake and should not be offered again.
Also orchid events has a history of screwing up like this. Find a different vendor!

Update: this is now confirmed to be due to orchid events.
They had a system failure, and now the people who spent the most are getting preferential treatment, obviously.
Glad to see that AC will be accessible to those rich enough to afford it!

FYI if you booked off block at the Pittsburgh Drury for #AC2026 - they are calling people with reservations and telling them they will NOT be honored.
@unclekage.bsky.social please make sure AC hotel team is talking to Drury - Drury rep had ZERO contacts. Not impressed with orchid right now!

Scoooooooore!!!! 19 mins after Supersponsor bookings opened, I had my Westin 2 Doubles room secured, the confirmation e-mail arrived at 6:21pm my time (for real!) Once past the spinning arrows (queue?) and receiving the ✅, it was smooth sailing.
