Jean Otus, you magnificent bastard.
I remember there being complaints when the show aired that it was such a bloodless conclusion, but the shape of the nation was changed radically. Well, it could have used more mechs and wheat exports, but not every ending can be perfect. #ACCA
One criticism I do have is there are no external threats that we can see. The 13 districts are a continent or island unto themselves, the only trade is internal and any potential aggression is between the districts without the unifying organization of #ACCA.
Who will sit on the throne, and who will hold the future of Dowa and ACCA in their hands? #ACCA 11

But now, on the eve of the ceremony, the coup is being discussed openly within ACCA and all the cards about where the nation is truly headed are laid on the table for those at the top to see. #ACCA 11
And between this episode where the coup plotters are starting to realize they're running low on time and the threats to halt that movement things are starting to heat up, even if it doesn't involve any gunfights or prolonged car chases. #ACCA

Really fantastic episode, particularly the conversation in Pranetta where there's been a decades long mining project in the desert.
ACCA itself is roughly modeled after the US I think having that be Appalachian would be a better analogy but the Las Vegas district wouldn't fit inside then. #ACCA 10
Honestly forgot how involved Grossular was but we also see the plot within the plot. That old man hair grab though, well it is Natsume Ono. #ACCA 9

Next episode is titled "A Graceful Black Adder Bears Its Fangs" so of course this is the first thing I thought of. Prince Schwan is about as competent. #ACCA
We finally learn the whole history of the Otus family through Nino's perspective; I remembered he was a few years older even though he and Jean act about the same age, but not that he was 25 when entering high school to monitor him. The musical montage of that is also kinda gay tbh. #ACCA 8
Also the conversation with Mauve: she's willing to admit her mistakes, listen to a subordinate when continuing to make incorrect assumptions about an individual based on limited info.
Knowing the real mastermind, I'm sure he didn't expect them to still work together at this stage. #ACCA 7
Jean does learn the truth this episode, which is earlier than I expected, and that the prince wasn't interested in a romantic relationship but just in securing his own power. Can't really fault Magie for not sharing that information when he did such a bad job explaining his intentions. #ACCA 7
Lotta is so excited about the snowball desserts, it's cute.
We also get the "coincidental" meeting the king at a cafe. Jean doesn't understand the significance, but surely everyone else in that room (besides guards) does, Nino certainly knows. I got surprisingly emotional at that reunion. #ACCA 7

the petty and self-absorbed heir apparent Schwan trying to ingratiate himself to the king. There are so many people around him who try to nudge him towards more humility or to broaden his experiences and worldview, but he's simply focused on the goal of power and his preconceived desires. #ACCA 6
There's also an interesting conversation between Lilium and the chief officer from the district stuck 100 years in the past. I know where Lilium is going to fall on alliances, but can't remember how the other feels about where Suitsu is going to end up to completely unpack the details. #ACCA 5
Lilium, the only recurring character from an Indian-coded family, gives Jean enough information to piece together Nino's constant presence. But their friendship has enough history the details can wait, even so Jean gets him to stay home by looking after his little sister for the holidays. #ACCA
Jean's gotten a cigarette in each district but this is the first that's directly said "we don't smoke here, we went out of our way to get this as a token to show our support for you" but why Jean is believed to be so important a figure is still a mystery. #ACCA 5
"I cannot entrust this important mission (stalking a seemingly normal girl) to an insubordinate who'd get distracted by food!" *immediately gets distracted by food*
It's good we've already established these characters as generally harmless guys otherwise the stalking would be worrisome. #ACCA 5
