I’ve maxed out on their Arabic course (Is it cheating to use my Master’s?) but it’s still good for practice and for learning whatever language bites me in the ass, usually due to a new TV show. German is second on my list („Die Kaiserin“ or “The Empress” on Netflix—even “Love Is Blind” variations though there’s still way too much English being thrown around) but I try to keep up on my Spanish. No, no I don’t. I should! Haven’t leaned into Spanish much since rewatching “Better Call Saul” a few times in Spanish during the pandemic. Don’t worry, I’m definitely anti-fascist but my German genes love Deutsch and my imaginary genes will always be addicted to keeping up my Arabic. Can’t move back to Cairo anytime soon but it helps ease the nostalgia. To be clear, it was but ONE YEAR of graduate school in 1993-94. One unforgettable year. 🥰 Hearty nod to Netflix and Prime for filling my algorithm with more and more contemporary foreign shows to study when the furkids are napping. Hey—not my fault you clicked on the alt text. You should know by now I use it to fill in the rest of the story that no one actually asked me for. 😉 Damn that looks awkward. Best to hit delete! Oops, that was send.
Oh dear. My ADHD bestie, Duo🦉, is a little clingy at times, but I let it slide because he indulges my obsession with foreign languages.
