As a first-time presenter and second-time attendee at #AEFP2024, I’m thrilled that our Wheelock Educational Policy Center’s strong presence this year started with my collaboration with Dr. Olivia Chi on paraeducators and ended with my joint work with Dr. Marcus Winters on EL reclassification.

I am sorry to say that I don't think we are going to improve the chronic absenteeism problem in schools by squinting harder at existing administrative data. It is a complex, multi-faceted, and human problem that needs more naturalistic research. #AEFP2024
