It would only take a minute to cut a flower and be on their way, but time always slowed down in the church. Cloud never visited without stopping to reflect. To remember. He removed his own shoes and treaded around the flowers to sit by Denzel and Thea. "Do you still feel them here?" Denzel asked. "Yeah," Cloud said. "Usually." "Now?" Cloud considered the question, leaning back on his hands. He looked up where sunlight was streaming through the roof. Thought of a day so long ago when he had tumbled through and landed among the flowers. Immediately, he had known the church to be a special place. Because of the flowers, of course, but also because the person peering down at him where he laid miraculously uninjured atop broken stems and crushed petals. The church held magic and so too had Aerith. But Aerith had not only been magical because of her Cetra background. Aerith's magic was also in the way that she lived and loved. After a moment, Cloud laughed softly. "Maybe not right now," he told Denzel. "If Aerith were still around, she wouldn't be here with us. She would be out shopping with Tifa, Yuffie, and Marlene."
