Dr Mateusz Tałanda presents his research on the early development of #aetosaurs (Archosauria: Pseudosuchia) - a key to their success in the Late #Triassic ecosystems at #2025SVP
#aetosaurs
#Aetosaurs were crocodile-line archosaurs 🐊 that lived during the Late Triassic. They were widespread, being found across North & South America, Europe, India, and Africa. (This particular #fossil was unearthed in New Mexico 🇺🇸). They are unusual, encompassing a mix of herbivores & omnivores.

Why is my book taking so long to finish? Well, one of many reasons are Aetosaurs! They are very complicated to reconstruct AND my book has a lot of them! 😅 But Aetosaurs are awesome!
Aetosaurs are pseudosuchians, and thus related to modern crocodilians
