Album Review: Snailgun unveil their shattering debut ‘Glass Walls’ ahead of live dates. Naarm/Melbourne band Snailgun have just delivered their debut album 'Glass Wall', and it's a deliciously scabrous affair filled with blistering post punk cathartic noise. The genetic make up of this album is hard to define - a mix of bands like Idles with a thunderous chaotic storm in the wilderness. Opening track 'SD' sets the bar high: a scorching slightly chaotic blast of excoriating punk delivery that has genetic traces back to Johnny Rotten's quavering Sex Pistols vocals with the instrumental complexity of P.I.L. The pace is pulse quickening and throbs with a cathartic disdain and howl of feedback hovering at the edges.

Album Review: ‘Smile’ – Brighton’s Thrillhouse have blossomed into something quite special with their second shimmering album. Brighton band Thrillhouse have long been on our radar and, while at times the radar's been on the blink due the sheer volume of noise in the industry, one thing has never changed and that's their continued creative output. In fact we've followed them since early 2020 and they released their debut album 'Something About This Place' in 2023 (see our review here). These days essentially a duo consisting of Sam Baldwin and Jack Nielsen, Thrillhouse are back with their new album 'Smile' and all is well in the world.

“Sonic Temple” de The Cult, lanzado el 10 de abril de 1989, cumple hoy 37 años. Para mí, es una verdadera joya del hard rock que se disfruta de principio a fin a través de sus 10 excelentes canciones (sin contar bonus tracks).

Album Review: The Melvins with Napalm Death – ‘Savage Imperial Death March’: A mind-shredding collaboration from two peerless noise rock pioneers. The mutual admiration between these two noise/grind totems has never been disguised. The bands have toured together, their joint 2015 and 2025 expeditions coining the title for this album, and released a split EP as part of the Sugar Daddy Live series in 2013. But now ‘Savage Imperial Death March’ captures The Melvins and Napalm Death recorded in collaboration for the first time, i.e. writing and riffing together, to make this monumental alt rock statement. This album is about much more than dynamic power though, any aficionados of either band will know that both have an engrained drive towards experimenting with and twisting against expected metal conventions.
